Scholarships

Please visit the Guidance Office for any scholarship-relate questions. We will be updating scholarship applications throughout the year as those become available. Please check the Guidance page on the WJSHS website for a link to all scholarships that are available.  We also have hard copies of scholarship applications in our office. Seniors should be looking at scholarships throughout the year and plan on applying for all scholarships in the spring semester.

Scholarship Highlights:

Eisenberg school of Business scholarship: $11,500. Awarded to a student who is accepted to and will be attending the Eisenberg School of Business at Umass Amherst.  The benefactor of the scholarship is a Ware graduate, and therefore Ware students have first priority to receive this scholarship.  If you are planning to apply to UMass Amherst’s Business school, please see Guidance for additional information.

MEFA Financial Aid Night

There will be a Financial Aid Information session at Pathfinder on Wednesday, October 17th at 6pm in the high school Library.  A representative from MEFA will talk with the parents of juniors and seniors about the Financial Aid application process and answer any questions you might have at that time. If you are interested in attending, please let the Ware Guidance Department know.

Seniors:

Mrs. Racine and Mrs. Griffith will be meeting with all seniors before the end of October to discuss their plans after graduation.  Please return your Senior Survey ASAP so that we can schedule your appointment.  Students planning to attend college in the fall of 2019 should be working on their Common Application and College Essay.  The Common Application can be found online at www.commonapp.org and is the main forum most colleges and universities use to accept college applications.

SATS/PSATS Scheduled for October 10th

Students who have preregistered for the SATs or PSATs will be testing during school hours on Wednesday, October 10th beginning at 8am.  In order to prepare for either exam, students are encouraged to create an account on Collegeboard.org and use the Khan Academy tool on that website for personalized SAT/PSAT practice.  Khan Academy is a free tool that provides individualized feedback and test preparation to all students based on their areas of strength and weakness.  See Guidance if you have questions about this service.

Upcoming College Visits:
