This is the fourth year WJSHS has offered a semester-long Certified Nursing Assistant course that is available to our juniors and seniors. Congratulations to these students for earning their CNA certificates on January 17, 2023!
To make this course possible, Dr. DiLeo partnered with Baystate Health and Holyoke Community College! The donations of the supplies, as well as the teachers needed for this course, allowed students to learn skills and knowledge through academic
and interactive hands-on coursework.
In the beginning, Dr. DiLeo knew having a CNA course would present opportunities for students and help give back to the community. This course allowed students to explore the healthcare field to find out if it was the right fit for them. There is a great need for nurse aids and after taking this course, students can apply for their licenses to be eligible to work as CNAs.
